Anat grew up in Ames, IA and began her dance training at the age of six with former Joffrey principal dancers Robert Thomas and MiyokoKato. She went on to graduate fromthe University of Minnesota with a BFA in Dance and Art in 2006. While at the UMN, she worked withchoreographers Shapiro & Smith, Hannah Stillwell, Zoe Sealy, Marge Madduxand Maria Cheng. Anat alsoreceived two Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program grants for her researchand choreography on the performance of genocide. She has performed professionally for Kats Fukasawa, AnasooyaAbraham, apprenticed for and performed with Carl Flink’s Black Label Movementand was part of a reconstruction of Trisha Brown’s Planes at the Walker Art Center. Anat has choreographed works for La Vie Theater, LakeshorePlayers and 2007 Minneapolis Fringe Festival and teaches and choreographs forstudios in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.
